LANE, CHARLES (1953– )

Director, actor. This New York City native received rave reviews as the writer, director, and star of his independent film Sidewalk Stories, 1989. While studying film at the State University of New York at Purchase, his short film A Place in Time, 1976, won a Student Academy Award. He went on to direct the Hollywood feature film True Identity, 1991, and the telepic Hallelujah, 1993. His acting credits also include Posse, 1993.
